Hi Flourish,
You accept listed one of my favorites - "Everybody Hurts" by R.E.Thou. It was backed by a powerful video also.
At that place are many songs from hard rock and heavy metal genre on pain, suffering, hurting, specially from those dejection based hard rock bands. The wailing of David Coverdale from his White Snake band songs stand up out. Another ring that had true pain, suffering, and hurting feeling is less known and under-rated Great White.
The ballads of Scorpions is yet another gear up of examples.
Another vocal forth the lines, but not exactly falling in the category, that I similar is 'Cherokee' past Swedish band Europe.
Regards,
Suhail and my domestic dog K2

This is an interesting article that is also filled with sadness. Pain is a hard aspect of our lives. The section nigh migraines was specially meaningful for me. My sister's life has been seriously altered by frequent and persistent migraines. I experience migraines, too, but thankfully simply occasionally. I hope yours improve, Flourish.

Ah, yeah...pain. The misery that nosotros all share in a fallen globe. I will email your link to myself because I might choose some of these songs to re-write lyrics to! I used the rhythm to LOVE HURTS in two separate Song lyrics, already.
P.S.- while I was on your site of "Naughty Gifts" for Christmas, I clicked on the stuff with the corn in it- HILARIOUS!!
BTW, I am fascinated by these singers' medical conditions. Great Task, every bit usual, Flourish!

Who knows how many songs about hurting I have heard in the concluding half-dozen decades, but for some reason, the 1 past Gary Allen stuck in my head. Maybe because of his personal loss and how raw he was when he recorded it.

Linda - Suffering is a bail we all share, and fortunately we have one another to lean on to ease the hurt. Knowing that others understand the hurting, whether concrete or emotional, often helps. Thank you lot for your lovely thoughtful annotate.
Linda Lum from Washington State, U.s. on Nov 17, 2017:
Flourish, this is deplorable and comforting at the same time. I know, that sounds like a dichotomy, but all of usa are in hurting. Some physical, some emotional. And sometimes the concrete furnishings the emotional.
My point is that pain tin can make one experience so isolated. It seems that everyone else is going most with their lives, withal hither I am in this identify I can't climb out of.
Sometimes information technology's a chronic ailment (similar MS, lupus, Crohns, rheumatoid or osteoarthritis, etc.). And sometimes it's an emotional wound (which can also exist chemical/physical) and sometimes it's the pain of loss.
There is some comfort though in knowing that yous are non lone. These songs speak to that. Thank you for such a heartfelt, loving article.
